Memahami Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense, Ternyata Mudah!

Kampung Inggris Bandung E-PLC – Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense adalah tenses yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kalimat yang akan telah sedang terjadi di masa lalu. Tenses ini mirip dengan Future Perfect Continuous Tense, persamaannya terdapat sama-sama memiliki lebih dari satu keterangan waktu pada satu kalimat. Past future perfect continuous tense bersifat pengandaian atau asumsi, maksudnya adalah pelaku dalam kalimat tersebut hanya memberikan asumsi pada kalimat yang dinyatakan olehnya.

Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense dibentuk dengan auxiliary verb would, have, been dan present participle (-ing). Secara umum past future perfect continuous tense hanya terjadi pada aksi berupa dynamic verb, tidak stative verb karena umumnya hanya dynamic verb yang memiliki bentuk continuous.

Berikut rumus past future perfect continuous tense untuk kalimat positif, negatif, dan interogatif.

Kalimat positif:

S + would + have + been + present participle (-ing)

I/you/she/he/it would have been driving

They/we would have been working

Kalimat negatif:

S + would + not + have + been + present participle (-ing)

I/you/she/he/it would not have been driving

They/we would not have been working

Kalimat interogatif:

Would + S + have + been + present participle (-ing)

Would I/you/she/he/it have been driving

Would they/we have been working

Berikut ini contoh-contoh kalimat pada Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense

If his Visa had been approved, he would have been working abroad for a week.

(Jika visa dia telah disetujui, dia akan telah bekerja selama seminggu.)

Fact:

but his Visa wasn’t approved (tapi Visa-nya tidak disetujui)

If we had set the tanks in a proper way, the water would have been flowing out of tank X into tank Y at a constant rate.

(Jika kita telah mengatur tank-tank tersebut dengan cara yan benar, air akan telah mengalir dari tangki X ke dalam tangki Y dengan laju konstan)

Fact:

but we didn’t set them in a proper way

Nisa and her family would have been living at their new house if its construction had finished.

(Nisa dan keluarganya akan telah menempati rumah baru mereka jika konstruksinya sudah selesai)

Fact:

but its construction didn’t finish (tapi konstruksinya tidak selesai).

We would have been watching the movie for an hour if you had arrived earlier.

(Kita akan menonton film selama satu jam jika kamu datang lebih awal).

They should have been recording their new song by this weekend.

(Mereka seharusnya sudah merekam lagu baru mereka pada akhir pekan ini).

I would not have been standing for an hour if you had picked me up.

(Aku tidak akan berdiri selama satu jam jika kamu menjemputku).

I would not have been staying in my grandmother’s house if my parents had cancelled their business trip.

(Aku tidak akan tinggal di rumah nenekku kalau orang tuaku membatalkan perjalanan bisnis mereka).

The cats would not have been starving for hours if you had come home on time.

(Kucing-kucing itu tidak akan kelaparan selama beberapa jam jika kamu pulang tepat waktu).

Would I have been leading this company for two years if I hadn’t left?

(Apakah aku bakal memimpin perusahaan ini selama dua tahun jika aku tidak pergi?)

Would they have been playing games if you had watched them?

(Apakah mereka bakal bermain jika kamu memerhatikan mereka?)
